TO GET STARTED

  • OPEN Photoshop Elements
  • COPY the image on the left by using a RIGHT MOUSECLICK
  • Create a NEW file and use EDIT PASTE to place the image on the canvas
(The canvas should be exactly the right size - Photoshop "learns" the resolution from whatever was most recently copied onto the windows clipboard)

BEGIN CONSTRUCTION

  • Use Photoshop's SELECTION TOOLS to isolate the individual pieces, and use CTRL-J to pop them onto their own layers in Photoshop
(Be sure to experiment with the various selection tools - some work better than others on certain challenges)
  • Use the MOVE tool to orient the pieces to form parts of a face

WHEN YOU'RE DONE

  • Add a simple, but attractive background
  • Crop the image so it fits the canvas
  • Save your creation FOR WEB with the name NEWPOTATOHEAD.JPG
  • DISPLAY your creation on an appropriate page in your PORTFOLIO
