Introduction to Editing using Adobe Premiere Elements
Begin by logging in and launching Adobe Premeire Elements. Connect the flip camer in USB port on the computer or place the Memory Stck from the camcorder in the card reader adapter into the USB port on the computer.

This is the capture window. You will notice the transport controls located at the bottom of the screen. Cue your video to the proper start point and press the capture button. The video will begin to play and capture to the hard drive. || ||

You will be presented with this screen - you must enter a filename for your capture work and a location for storage. The SONA machines have accessible hardrive space on the N: Drive. You can create a folder for your work on the N: Drive. Please note that his storage space is not secure and you should therefore complete the steps to compress your video files and upload them to the hand-in Crocker folder in order to insure security

This window will appear with the clip in the left hand coloumb of the window and the capture window in the centre of the screen

Upon completion of the video capture -choose the Edit tab - this screen will appear. The clip you have just captured will be placed in the timeline as well as appear in the clip folder (top left hand corner of the screen). All media required for the editing process including; video clips, graphics, audio tracks, (music and voice), will be stored in this folder. It is important to insure that all media is here before you begin editing. To start simply click and drag media files to the appropriate track in the timeline. ie. Video clips into track 1 video.
